| Focus on Character
Education |
Paula
Hollenberg
Principal |
| Character Education is an
integral part of the education students receive at
Centerville-Abington Elementary School. Our staff believes
in teaching character by example as well as using structured
events such as school convocations to teach character traits.
The character traits we focus on include: responsibility,
effort, perseverance, motivation, confidence, teamwork, problem
solving, caring and common sense. The Lifelong Guidelines
we encourage are: trustworthiness, truthfulness, personal
best, active listening and "no putdowns." Students are
recognized and rewarded for their good character at monthly
convocations and during morning announcements. Teachers
choose one student each month who has demonstrated good
character as their "Student of the Month." |
